About

I'm Daniel Schultz, pastor of Salem United Church of Christ in Wayne, Wisconsin. That's a small church in a smaller town. In my spare time, I write. In my spare spare time, I bake bread and garden. That's about it.

Cast of Characters

  • Jen, aka Jennifer, aka Mrs Pastor, aka The Light Of My Life Without Whom I Would Be Utterly Lost: my wife.
  • Abigail: my daughter, who is not currently living with us. It's complicated.
  • Bill, aka Bill-Bill, aka Billy, aka William, aka The Little Boy: my son, eight.
  • Fussy, Mitty, Zippy: the family cats. They're naughty.

More to come, I'm sure.

The C.V.

I grew up in Madison, Wisconsin, where I attended the University of. Eventually, I graduated from Emory University's Candler School of Theology. I was ordained in the United Church of Christ on Pentecost, 1999. My writing has appeared at Daily Kos, Street Prophets (which I helped found), Religion Dispatches, the Huffington Post, Newsweek's OnFaith, the Guardian Online, the Revealer, the Lancaster (Pennsylvania) Sunday News, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, and probably some other places I've forgotten about now. Oh yeah, I wrote a book, too.
